Ormiston Sir Stanley Matthews Academy celebrates a successful GCSE results day

Students and staff at Ormiston Sir Stanley Matthews Academy (OSSMA) have come together to celebrate Year 11 students as they receive their GCSE results and look to the future.

The school is celebrating the achievements of its students, who have shown resilience and ambition throughout their studies and are now preparing to take their next steps in education, training or employment.

This year’s cohort achieved particularly highly in photography, music, health and social care and English literature.

The whole school community has come together today to mark the students’ achievements, hard work and dedication, as they look ahead to the next stage of their education.

While all students have achieved well, some individual achievements include:

  • Alleza W gained a grade 9, six grade 8s plus top grades in vocational courses.
  • Nicole C – achieved two grade 9s, five grade 8s and two grade 7s.
  • Josie M secured two grade 9s, four grade 8s and two grade 7s.

At OSSMA, all students have the opportunity to develop academically, socially, and personally, supported by the school’s unique values-led curriculum and broad range of extracurricular learning. As part of Ormiston, the school is dedicated to providing the highest quality education and ensuring that every child, regardless of their background, gains the skills and opportunities they need to thrive.

Kelly Hassall, Principal at Ormiston Sir Stanley Matthews Academy, said:

“Our Year 11 students have achieved so much, both academically and personally, and today is an opportunity to recognise everything they have accomplished. Their commitment has been outstanding, and these results are richly deserved.

“We are grateful to our dedicated staff and supportive families, who have played such an important part in helping every student reach this point.”
